Our Own Little Edison

Yee-haw! Ride 'em cowgirl!

Amy "invented" a cat toy
for the first grade Invention Fair.

Kara
has informed Mom that if she leaves her toy phone on, the batteries will die and they will go to Battery Heaven.

Amy was upset with Dad for giving her a time-out, so she told him, "You should have never married Mommy! I don't like you!"

Joy and Brenda actually had a quiet house for an hour Saturday morning while both girls were at a Primary activity. sniff. They're growing up so fast!!

Berry Yum Barium

Kara made a little nest for herself
in Dad's big coat.

The girls in front of a volcano
north of Snow Canyon State Park

Kara
is convinced that big girls don't watch Sesame Street, so she won't watch Sesame Street.

Brenda had a CT scan a couple weeks ago as the next step in trying to figure out why her gallbladder pain is back (even though she no longer has a gallbladder). She got to drink a tasty (?) barium smoothie (thick, cold and berry-flavored; why can't they make it taste like Ghirardelli??) and enjoy IV contrast dye. The results showed that her spleen is slightly enlarged, which can apparently be caused by any number of things. The next great adventure: a colonoscopy!

Amy got her first report card in the mail last week. She is doing well in every area, especially reading. Since our last parent/teacher conference at the end of November, she has progressed from level C to level F. The goal for 1st graders is to be reading at level I (simple chapter books) by the end of the school year.

Joy has been involved in top secret computer science missions. We could tell you all about them, but then we would have to kill you.

Winter Wonderland

Dad helping Kara sled down the driveway

Joy built a sled run in our front yard (click the picture to see it in mroe detail). Amy and her friends loved it. Kara wasn't so sure. She went down once and said it was fun, but when Dad asked if she wanted to go again, she said, "No." Brenda was perfectly happy to watch it all.
