The Big First Day

Today was the first day of school for the girls:

Big 4th grader

Big 1st grader

Notice they picked matching uniforms.
Hope that sister love sticks around
for a while.

Rose asked Kara this morning if she was nervous, and, without a hesitation, Kara responded, "Nope. We had blessings!"*

Amy's classroom is in the junior high school building. ALA is growing!

Brenda ran errands, took a nice, long nap and still had time to volunteer in Kara's classroom this afternoon. Her classes don't start until next week!

Joy found it very strange to have the rest of the family leaving the house before he left for work.

Rose has returned from Wisconsin and is also ready to start school next week.

Happy Cupcake Day! Mmmmm....
Love,
The Petersons

* For anyone not familiar with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we believe that every worthy male member of the church is entitled to hold and exercise the priesthood of God. One way the priesthood can be used is to give blessings of healing, comfort, counsel, etc. Many LDS families, including ours, have a tradition of giving children fathers' blessings at the beginning of each school year to calm fears and give counsel for the coming year. You can read more here and here. If you have any questions, feel free to ask us!
